About the Club

Colinton Garden Club was established 40 years ago to enable members to share their love of gardening and gardens and to work together in preserving and adding value to our quality of life.

Meetings…

We meet once a month, from September to April, usually on the fourth Monday, at 8.00pm in Dreghorn Loan Hall. The evening consists of an update on club activities by our Chairperson followed by a talk by an expert. Afterwards, members can ask questions of the speaker, formally, or informally during coffee time.

A cup of tea or coffee enables members to engage in relaxed discussion and exchange ideas in a friendly atmosphere.

Social Activities…

Members’ Open Gardens – a social morning (including coffee and plant sale) visiting parts of Colinton you may not usually reach, Outings, and the fabulous Christmas Party … come along!

Services…

Our established and much valued implement loan scheme (including a heavy duty scarifier to get out that famous Pentland moss from your lawn), will prepare the way for our discounted fertiliser service delivered to your door. Library books on loan at monthly meetings, gardening videos, personal advice…. all these repay your modest annual subscription many times over. Seed and plant discounts are also available to members (please see separate ‘Our Services’ section).

Membership of other organisations via the Garden Club…

Tendershoots – an online Garden network which offers many benefits and discounts. See ‘Our Services’ section of this website
