We recently cruised along the Danube through Hungary, Austria and Germany. In the central marketplace of Nuremburg, one stall stood out owing to a plethora of flowers from the Proteaceae family (banksias, proteas and leucospermums). There was nothing fancy about the displays – just boxes of blooms on plastic chairs – awaiting the talents of arrangers to show them to their best.
