CGC was invited to plant a sweet chestnut tree to commemorate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. The tree was donated by the City of Edinburgh Council, and you will see two strong council gardeners digging it in. Members of the CGC committee symbolically shovelled compost on to finalise the planting. Hopefully in a few years time, it will begin to bear fruit to compliment the rapidly growing community orchard that is already established at Campbell Park.
