We recently visited Beningbrough Hall & Gardens during a weekend break in York. The highlight of the Gardens is the large walled garden, which features unusual varieties of apples and pears, massive Curcubitae and some fine flower borders. Beningbrough is celebrating its 300th Anniversary by planting 300,000 spring bulbs near the Ha-ha. We were not dressed for serious gardening, but we did manage to plant about a hundred crocus bulbs before retiring for lunch.
